Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where can I go with my General Admission Ticket?
A: The General Admission Ticket grants you access to the grounds. You can explore the Infield, Meadow, Vendor Villages and Paddock Shoppes. There is no reserved seating with this ticket.

Q: Will there be food?
A: Yes. We have food vendors set up in the Infield, as well as the Paddock Shoppes. We also have Hospitality Tents The Post & Paddock and The Turf Club which serve food all day.

Q: Do I need a General Admission Ticket along with Post & Paddock Tickets?
A: Yes all race goers entering the racecourse must have a scannable General Admission ticket for entry. The Post & Paddock Ticket only allows you entrance to the P&P Tent once you are on the grounds.

Q: If I have only General Admission Tickets, can I bring chairs to the event?
A: Yes you may bring chairs that do not block any patrons view of the racecourse. You may not block any parking spaces with these chairs but can use them on open areas of the fence or in the Vendor Village.

Q: Do children need tickets?
A: Children 12 and under are free.

Q: Will the event sell out?
A: No, we are fortunate enough to have a very large venue making it difficult to sell out of General Admission tickets. However, there are a limited amount of Reserved Parking Spaces in the Infield, East and West Rail, Front Row, Restricted and the Meadow tailgating spots which can sell out.

Q: Are grills allowed?
A: Yes. Gas grills only, please do not bring charcoal grills.

Q: Are dogs allowed?
A: We love dogs. However for the safety of the dogs, the horses, and other patrons, we do not allow dogs at the races.

Q: Will I get my same parking space as last year?
A:  Yes, you will have the first right of refusal each year on your parking space before January 31. If you fail to respond to the invitation, the space will be given away to another patron.

Q: How many people can I fit at my Infield tailgating spot?
A: Please be respectful of your tailgate neighbors and do not overcrowd yours or their space. If you feel that your group has outgrown your space, considering moving to the Meadow where we can accommodate groups of 10 - 50 people.

Q: What happens if it rains?
A: The races will run rain or shine. We always hope for good weather, but we strongly suggest packing a rain jacket just in case!

Q: Can I get a refund?
A: Your payment will be submitted as a donation to the Carolina Cup Racing Association as we do not do refunds.

Q: How do I get a tent?
A: You can reserve a tent to be placed on your spot for an additional fee. Call the office for details.

Q: What time should I get there?
A: Gates open at 9:00am. The first race is 1:30pm, so there is plenty of time to arrive, park, unpack, and shop before the horses run.

Q: What should I wear?
A: There is no official dress codes at the races. However most women wear bright sundresses and hats and men in dress shirts, slacks and often a bright colored tie. Feel free to browse our Facebook or Instagram pages for inspiration! There will be a best dressed and best hat competition held each year which you might just win!

Q: Can I leave my car overnight?
A: We want all of our patrons to be safe! If you have had too much fun and need to leave your car, please do. We have overnight security but it's at your own risk.
